All Private golf lessons are taught by PGA and LPGA Professionals on an individual basis, seven days a week. We have taught golfers of all abilities including physically challenged. Whether it's full swing, putting or bunker-play we can improve your swing knowledge and performance. Valleywood's staff has 60 years of combined PGA and LPGA Professional Teaching experience. Group Golf Lessons
Valleywood Golf Course offers group lessons to everyone from ages 4 to 104! Golfers of all abilities will benefit from the PGA and LPGA Professional instruction offered at Valleywood Golf Course. We offer an extensive selection of group lessons. Beginner classes will cover the basics of the game of golf and the experienced classes focus more on the advanced fundamentals of the game.
- Short game basics, including chipping, pitching and putting
- Basic set-up and routine
- Full swing fundamentals
- Basic rules and etiquette
Classes are limited to eight students per class (ten students in little linksters) with a five student minimum. Clubs will be provided to those students in the beginner classes that need them at no additional charge. Experienced classes require that students provide their own clubs.

Adult Group Lesson Sessions
Adult Beginner Group Lessons
Beginner lessons for adults with little or no golf experience. Learn about short game basics, proper grip, stance, ball positions and more. Clubs provided. Limit eight students with five minimum.

Women's Group Lesson
Open to all women -- beginner or experienced. Classes focus on basic fundamentals including chipping, putting, pitching and the full swing. Class will provide group instruction as well as individual attention to each student. Limit eight students with a minimum of five. Clubs provided if needed.

Junior Group Lessons
Little Linksters Group Lessons
All golfers have to start somewhere, and this is a great way for children to get stared. Classes will be focus on basic grip, stance, and set-up, along with some basic swing fundamentals. Limit ten students with a minimum of five. Clubs provided if needed. Parents are welcome to stay and watch. Participants can sign up for multiple sessions.

Junior Golf Camp
Learn about the rules of golf and course etiquette. Lunch will also be provided. Classes will be tailored to fit the group with a limit of eight students and a minimum of five. Clubs provided if needed. Students should wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle.

FAQs
1. What will be covered in the lessons?
The lessons will cover putting, chipping, pitching, and the full swing. Within each of these components, we will focus on the basics of the shot, including the grip, stance, and swing.
2. Do I need to have any prior golf experience?
No. The lessons are open to golfers of all abilities, although primarily focused on the beginner to moderate players.
3. Do I need my own clubs?
No, Valleywood has golf clubs available to use, although we recommend bringing your own clubs. If you are looking for new golf clubs, please let your instructor know, and we will assist you in making sure the clubs are fit properly for you. We offer professional club fitting and are a certified Ping Club fitter. We have equipment options for golfers of all skill levels.
4. Where do we meet on the first day of lessons?
The first day of lessons will commence on the practice green (except for Mighty Mites, which is always on the far end of the driving range). You do not need to check in with the pro shop prior to the lessons.
5. What if I have a conflict and cannot make one of the lessons?
If you need to miss a lesson in a series, please contact the pro shop as soon as possible. One of our professionals will contact you and work out another lesson for you to attend that will be covering the same topics as the one you will miss.
6. What if the weather prevents lessons from taking place?
In the case of inclement weather, we will contact everyone via email or telephone two hours before the start of the lesson. Any lessons that are cancelled due to inclement weather will be made up at your earliest convenience.
7. How do I obtain a USGA Handicap?
Valleywood offers an 18-hole handicap service through the pro shop. The service includes two updated handicap cards per month, a 12 month subscription to Minnesota Golfer Magazine, and eligibility to play in sanctioned events. A seasonal fee is charged.
